"Spectrum" Series

Contemporary Art

An abstract series exploring identity through vibrant color transitions, layered textures, and expressive composition.

Spectrum Series was created as a collection of abstract portraits. Instead of painting faces, each piece represents an emotional state—joy, tension, calm, confusion, hope, or pain. The name “Spectrum” reflects how identity is never one thing; it is a range of shifting feelings, memories, and internal contrasts. Every viewer connects differently with each painting because the colors and textures act like emotional mirrors, revealing whatever sensation they carry within them.

The matte backgrounds symbolize the quiet, unchanging parts of the self, while the thick glossy textures represent the emotions that rise to the surface. The transitions between colors echo how people move between emotional states—sometimes smoothly, sometimes suddenly. Each painting becomes its own psychological portrait, inviting viewers to see a piece of their own identity within it.

The works are titled numerically—Spectrum 1, Spectrum 2, and so on—to avoid implying a specific emotion, allowing viewers to connect with each piece through their own personal feeling rather than a predetermined name.
