Threads of Identity is a series built from the fragments that shape us — the memories, emotions, and moments we carry through life. The fabric pieces represent nostalgic experiences, personal history, and everything we pass through as we grow. Each patch symbolizes a specific memory: some soft, some heavy, some stitched over, some kept untouched.
Instead of painting traditional portraits, the series weaves these fabric textures into figures and objects, showing how identity is layered rather than seen at first glance. Every fold, colour, and texture becomes a piece of someone’s story, inviting viewers to recognize parts of their own memories within the work.
The fabric patches are metaphors for the emotional and psychological materials we accumulate over time; joy, pain, nostalgia, resilience, silence. These fragments wrap around each subject, revealing how identity is formed through experiences rather than appearances. By merging hyperreal detail with textile-inspired patterns, Threads of Identity uncovers the beauty in what we hold onto, what we hide, and what we outgrow. Each piece asks the viewer to look closer: beneath the surface, within the layers, into the stories stitched across a lifetime.
